Before I came to the Freedom Home, I was a scared, anti-social, manipulating individual. I was born and raised in Texas and had a great family. My mom and dad were present in my life, as well as my sister. When I was younger my parents divorced, and my life took a turn directly down a path of destruction. I started using drugs to cope with life and eventually I found myself living in an altered state of reality, not just while on drugs, but all the time. I was supporting my addictions by robbing and stealing. I felt like the world was ending, Life literally was that empty. I was even suicidal, calling hot-lines desperate for someone to give me a reason to go on with life. I was eventually arrested and went to prison. Prison didn’t fix my drug issue or my mindset. One Thursday evening in East Liverpool OH, I walked into Family Care Ministries office where they were having group class and I asked for help. I enrolled into the Freedom Home that night.
Since giving my life to Jesus Christ, He has taken my burdens, addictions, and delivered me from oppression. He’s shown me the truth and how to apply it to my life, given me a rock-solid purpose in life, as well as a Godly character. Best of all, He has given me a new family and a sound mind!
